THE POZZAN FAMILY...
In the year 1880, Luigi Pozzan, originally from the area of Breganze - married to Giovanna Ferrazzi, runs a restaurant in the centre of Sandrigo: " La Meridiana".
One of their children, Giovanni, born in 1896, decides to carry on the family tradition Married to Maria Todeschini in 1920, he takes on the management of a new premises (in the meanwhile "La Meridiana" was sold) that takes the name of "Locanda Centrale".
It's difficult times, years of war and, mindless of the financial and management difficulties, Giovanni and his two children - Luigi and Battista proceed with the management of the place.
In 1950 Giovanni has a sudden death; Luigi the son, finds himself unwillingly at the head of his fathers activity, together with his mother Maria.
In 1956 he marries Giuliana Fabbris.

The family grows four children: Giovanni, Innocente, Alberto e Annamaria, that study and help their parents in running the kitchen and in renovating the place, that in 1974 becomes one of the most quaint and modern in the area.
With the bypassing of the years however, only the major son Giovanni - graded at the hotel trade school in Recoaro Terme and with many years beyond of "learning the art" in restaurant and hotel kitchens - reveals to be the only one with fervent passion for cooking and the management of the restaurant.

"Locanda Centrale" therefore, becomes the purpose for demanding and food connoisseur clients, in particular for specialities that make "La Locanda" famous, like "bacala" (dried cod) of the Pozzan family and the game skewers accompanied by the best wines of the area. Giovanni meanwhile, married to Patrizia Zuccon - a girl with natural manners and an innate passion for her husbands' trade - decides in 1990 to buy and restructure in the area of Sandrigo, a rustic. After a few years, the renovation is completed "l'Antica Trattoria Due Spade" is born, name chosen in memory of the old restaurant in Sandrigo. Here, Giovanni and Patrizia continue the family tradition by now centenary - in the preparation of the "bacalà alla Vicentina" and the game skewers, other than experimenting and promoting new dishes rich in flavour and art culinary.
In 1997 Patrizia receives a prize as the first woman maitre in the region of Veneto.
The three children, Luigi, Gaetano and Federica - fifth generation - , go to the hotel trade school of Tonezza with excellent results, a promise for the future and the tradition of the Pozzan family.
